My Thanksgiving has been filled with family friends way too much food and a few tears. We went to my mother in laws first around 11:00 am and had a great meal. I enjoy talking to my husbands family as long as the visits are few and far between. I had to show them the x-ray of Shelby's spine and answer 100000 questions about what the doctor said and why he was sending her to someone else. I finally just said that I was grateful that he is willing to send her to an expert instead of trying to treat her when his skill at scoliosis is not that great. Then we went to my mom's and had more great food coupled with a nice visit with my mom. When we came home everyone was totally exhausted. Then I spent the rest of my night taking care of a sick child that would not let me put him down. Today is my husbands birthday and yes I drug him out this morning to do a little Christmas shopping but I didn't get him up at an ungodly hour we didn't go out until about 10:00 this morning and it really wasn't that bad in the stores we went to. So now I'm home sitting here at my desk typing this and trying real hard not to fall asleep.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving I'm going to go rest.

Well first the good news..... well sort of....... Her hips are fine but he said that if it hurts her to stand then don't make her stand. So I asked him how she would ever learn to walk if she never stands and he said "she won't" and that at this point with as low as her tone is that the chance of her walking is slim even with hers standing.

Now for the bad news.... Her spine has gone from a 30 degree curve to a 52 degree curve and he is refering us to a spine specialist. He said that they usually like to wait until these kids are 10 years old to do this surgery and he thinks the only thing we can do to keep her from needing surgery before that point is to put her in a brace. I am so worried and now in searious need of doing some research to find out what lies ahead of us so that when we go for this appt with the specialist I will know what he's talking about and there won't be to many suprises.

Here is the x-ray he did of her spine.
